An aerospace customer had a group of 23 parts that they wanted to outsource.
PROBLEM: The parts had a very tight tolerance on several features, which resulted in a high scrap rate and long manufacturing delays. This caused a constant backlog in assembly, and a significant delay in deliveries to their customers.
SOLUTION: They gave us all the part numbers and we were able to resolve the challenges with the parts, clear the backlog, and consistently deliver good parts on time with an extremely low (<0.6%) scrap rate.
RESULTS: These parts went from being a frequent topic of discussion in our customer’s management meetings to being a non-issue for them.
